Testing green manure plants and biological fertilizers, evaluation of effectiveness of their application for promoting green agriculture in Armenia

As a result of the widespread use of mineral fertilizers and pesticides, the intensification of agriculture, and non-professional economic activities of farmers, the need for the development of green agriculture aimed at the conservation and efficient use of land resources, has significantly increased. To promote the development of green agriculture in the Republic the new technologies based on the use of green manure plants (soybeans, beans, peas) and biological fertilizers are being studied and developed on the experimental fields of the “Scientific Center for Vegetable and Industrial Crops”. The introduction of the proposed technologies will lead to an increase in soil fertility in farms, obtaining environmentally friendly products with low cost and to increase food security in the country.
