Regeneration of Valuable Armenian Landraces of Tomato and Development of Effective Methods of their Cultivation Management through Application of Modern Technologies

The strategic goal of the project is the effective management of cultivation technologies of Armenian landraces of tomato.

Currently, there are a number of problems in the restoration and cultivation of landraces (low yields, lack of the required number of seeds, modern cultivation technologies and of sufficient material and technical base). As a result of the project implementation, tomato landraces have been restored and propagated; they will be used not only in agriculture and processing, but will also serve as an initial material in biotechnology, in the breeding new varieties. The cultivation methods based on modern technologies have been also developed. The use of such technologies for landraces cultivation will increase productivity, quality indicators, improve the fruits appearance, and increase transportability.
